New Sketchbook

Went out yesterday to KLCC for some shopping. We stopped by Kinokuniya Bookstore and my girlfriend bought me this:

A new sketchbook!

She even wrote me an introduction

Just for the sake of memories. How sweet of her

Thank you so very much, dear. I love it!

Zool,

Keep up the good work and terus berkarya bro!

Love your Mystic Rural w-i-p.

Have you ever considered a side career painting fantastical creatures and locales for Magic: the Gathering, the popular trading card game? I have contacts working with that Hasbro product and can maybe help you get considered for their future releases?

Should I continue this by talking to you or Faizal Mukhtar, ur agent?

Your constant fan,
NiK!

Hey Nik,

Thanks for your support. It means alot to me.

You have no idea how much I would love to illustrate for Magic! I'm a big fan of their art. But I never understood the game :P

You can contact me / Faizal depending on who you're comfortable with. Maybe we can go in as a team.

Thanks again.

LOL.

Aku support ko pasal aku tahu bakat ko mengalah kan Sakuragi Hanamichi beb!

Neways, I'll definitely talk to my friend who's currently interning for Wizards of the Coast (WotC) // Hasbro as R&D utk Magic: the Gathering (MtG). Tanya dia sikit camna / apa yg diperlukan utk submit proposal as an artist for future MtG cards.

Will keep you and Faizal posted on the latest developments.

In the meantime, it'd be great if your portfolio could have a range of fantasy based archetypes: from elves and dwarfs, to barbarians, dragons, angels and minatours, to even asian myth based snake people, spirits + ghosts or harimau jadian, etc. etc.

Try and Google up some great MtG artists mcm Terese Nielsen, Mark Tedin, John Avon and Jason Chan.

WotC//Hasbro is always on the lookout for new artistes that can give a new take on old concepts. So kalo ko bring in your fresh take on things, mana tahu kalo diorang berminat ka...

Just let your mind explore and play with as many themes as you can imagine: desolate-rotting futuristic all-metal civilizations, ancient aztec tribes made up of jungle cat-people, undersea lost cities of merfolks and crab-clans...anything.

The more diverse, The better.

P/S--Artis tak paham camna nak main MtG tadahal...most of the top artistes bukannya tahu pun. U can do it-lah!
